Hello guys

I purchased a really lovely guide for Roboscopes which will help with target selection. You will, I'm sure, have seen Steve asking people to please enter targets that are rising to ensure the piers are working through the night.

I draw you attention, in particular, to page 13 of the PDF which gives a selection of targets and succinctly shows when jobs can be entered in to the Roboscopes system. I'll screenshot it and paste it separately too.

This can be used for the particular targets listed, or you can find nearby targets to each area using SIMBAD or Telescopius etc.

The charts are based on a minimum horizon limit of 20º

I hope you find it useful.

Obviously there are plenty of other ways to do this, notably it's possible using the filters on Telescopius to show targets rising above x degrees at Y time - but this can generate information overload. The above attachment is, I find, a quick little assistant to help work out which bit of the half-tennis ball celestial sphere to be thinking about.

The chart is based on 20 degree horizons and shows, for example, that you can snipe 2 hours of the Pleiades  in July! Possibly you might want to wait longer because the blue component, but you get the idea!

Pete,

Had a quick peek for now. That's absolutely amazing and thank you so much for sharing it. :)  It's by far better than anything else I've used due to the really useful customisation.

Cheers and CS,

Pete this is awesome thank you, it shows in a succinct manner what  I have been trying to get across to members very badly for some time, objects rise much earlier than you think they do so put the jobs in early and let our system decide when its ready to image them.

Most times you will get the data way earlier than you ever thought would be possible :)

Its brilliant, I didn't realise you had done this
