Morning :)

Our existing Epsilon e180 is coming home for a well earned spar retreat and facial rub, so while in Spain later this month we are swapping the venerable old girl out with our Spare e180. this will of course mean new flats etc but we will keep downtime to the the bare minimum we can :)

Hi again everyone - some more good new for Pier-5 members

We kept this under our hat until we had confirmation from ZWO but you are now getting a new improved camera for Pier-5 at no extra cost to existing users :)

So while we are in Spain doing the other maintenance we will be upgrading to the new ZWO ASI2400MC Pro 35mm full frame Colour camera.

I hope your are all as happy as we are with this new, this will now be a killer combo with aperture, resolution, Speed and FOV

Steve & the team

Ps I have attached an image below showing the new specs

Hi Steve,

That's great to hear and I'm looking forward to seeing the first pictures with the new camera. But I find it a pity that the Asi 2400 has only 14bit.

Agreed re 16-bit but i think this new camera has some tricks up its sleeve that will more than make up for being 14-bit and that's ignoring the increased FOV also :)

I have a feeling you will forget about the 16-bit very very quickly if I am correct!

A quick update!

The pier 5 swap to a new Epsilon and camera combo went well yesterday with zero hiccups, all we have left to do this evening in new focus curves

The scope camera combo are working very well together and even the corners are pretty good for such a large sensor, so happy days sealed
