Hi,
i was looking at the Sadr 1, 2, 3 and 4 data and it is only in Ha. Was this the way it was planned ? Or is capture still pending ?

Hi Vikas,

We made a few short submissions while we were waiting for the pier to be reset up, so we could quickly establish the change being made to the camera angle. Among those were 4 short tests on the Sadr mosaic. Unbeknown to us the camera had been rotated from an approximate vertical position to a horizontal one, not what we were expecting. For that reason that test mosaic did not align. However it made us aware of the reorientation of the camera. Richard has since resubmitted the mosaic but using the target name Sh2-108. Thanks though for pointing that out, since it certainly looked like it had not been resubmitted. Hope that explains things.

Cheers

Ray

Yes, the new jobs are 1063, 1064, 1065 and 1066.

Hi Richard,

I so hope that I've got something wrong, maybe missed a download, but there may be a problem with this mosaic right now.

Am I correct in thinking that we haven't yet received job 1063 coordinates 20h 07m 18s, +39d 05m 03s? I currently have the output from 1064 - 1066 but therein lies the problem, I think. The coordinates used for 1065 appears to be the same as 1066, and not what was submitted by you. If that was the case then an easy and understandable thing to do. Would you be able check this out to make sure that I've not got something wrong, because if I haven't then job 1065 needs to be resubmitted. I'm unable to check 1063 because as I mentioned I don't appear to have it yet.

This was something I intended to do shortly but may now need to wait.

Kind Regards,

Ray

Ray,

You are right. 1065 and 1066 have the same coordinates despite having the correct coordinates in the jobs submitted page.

I need to think up the best solution. Probably to resubmit 1065. I'll send a message to Phil and Steve. And see whether it is better for me to resubmit or whether they want to do it based on the coords on the jobs page.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for confirming that. Hopefully it will be done asap.

I like your new avatar. I too was thinking of adding a selfie but in the end decided against it. :) :) :)

I have marked the job as incomplete and put it back to Pete's in tray :)

Hi Richard,

Lol. I notice that you put Submission 1102 in for a couple of hours of Ha data for one of the mosaic panels, as you had accidentally submitted the Blue filter when you meant Ha. Peter must have realised this and replaced it with the correct, Ha, filter.I think that makes 1102 redundant. Besides, we ended up with that panel being duplicated anyway. So not only did you get those Ha subs, but another doubled-up set of Ha as well! :) Gotta laugh.

Kind regards,

Ray

Thanks Phil and Pete.

And thanks to Ray for spotting that one.

Also as Ray has noted Job 1102 is now redundant. It was put in because I put the wrong filter into a job, but some smart person noticed this and corrected my obvious error. I only found out when I downloaded and looked at the data.

So 1102 can be cancelled.

When I said "old_eyes" I meant it. Now failing hearing to contend with as well. Fortunately, I still have my hair, unlike the avatar

I have now marked 1102 as cancelled and removed it from the Pier queue (which will reflect tomorrow morning)

Well Richard at least you've your hair. A substantial amount of mine parted company with me decades ago. Not much chance of getting the cataracts done either the way things are at present, and the hearing definitely not as good as it was. Add in the continual and accelerating shedding of brain cells and I've come to the conclusion, old age is not for wimps.

It must be getting close to resubmitting some of those we had to cancel earlier in the year. The California nebula springs to mind and for this we can now take advantage of the change to the camera angle. Maybe lots of Ha to bring out more of the detail?

yippee, get them in early so you catch them rising that's my motto

Look how early Pier-1 is getting the Helix data because its in and it meets parameters for the software to acquire :)

Steve

PS Dolphin nebula for winter ?

Please ignore my dylexia wherever possible, just be thankful I can control my Tourettes ;)

Unfortunately Steve we need nature to cooperate. From what I'm seeing that Helix ain't getting done. Nothing last night. :(

Anyway onto more positive things. Finally the Spaghetti nebula aka Simeis147 and sh2-240 is now rising, and after patiently waiting ages I'm submitting it. Two submissions, one for RGB stars and the other for a HOO narrowband of the nebula.

Safe and pleasant trip guys, and everything crossed Doris doesn't put Spain back onto the red list before your return home!

Its already completed the 180s subs that were done by mistake (our error) and has started the 300s, however, I can shout at the moon all I like for the next few nights and I guarantee she will still sit direct overhead :(

Cool re Simie, when you have a moment speak to Ray please, I rang him the other day and he may have some news...

Apologies for the cryptic

Don't even get me started on Mrs Boris :)

Speak soon!

Cryptic indeed Steve. I've spoken to myself, as I often do these days, but he wasn't forthcoming. :)

I think the stress may have finally got to you Steve.

As they say Mark, grass doesn't grow on busy streets. :)

Very impressed with your computer set up you detailed on another thread. Mine may not be anywhere near as impressive, but I can pick mine up and take it anywhere. :)

By the way welcome to the syndicate,

Cheers,
