P14 is happily chomping through its jobs list, to my eyes it appears to be devoid of enough up and coming work to keep it busy

needs work for now, next month and the up coming 3/4 months

Steve :)

Hi Steve,

Say no more!

Have just submitted The Flying Bat and The Invisible Squid as 2 separate submissions. Richard would you please check the coordinates I've used, thanks.

One thing that may be affecting the decision as to whether or not to enter new submissions is the impending trip to Spain. All existing jobs probably assume the present wide fov we have and therefore need to be completed ahead of the trip, and could be affected by anything new added to the queue. Can we put in the Notes for a job that it should only be added to the queue after the removal of the reducer?

Cheers,

Morning Ray

Sounds like a plan, another thing you could do is also choose a few objects that it makes no difference if the FOV is slightly smaller

Remember you don't have to frame the whole nebula all the time, with proper framing and an artistic eye in my opinion smaller sections of larger nebula are far more attractive as well as they highlight interesting features  A "very" common and somewhat overdone example of this would be the wall in NGC7000. I am sure you get my drift none the less :)

Morning Steve,

Just looked at the job queue and submission list. The last job prior to today I submitted, Flaming Star and Tadpoles in narrowband is not yet showing in the job queue, as obviously are the 2 I've just done. I notice that 2 early submissions are conspicuous by their absence. Job 1070 which is for an LRGB capture of the Flaming Star and Tadpoles and 1048 for ngc7789 are both still showing as not completed in the submission list, but are not showing in the job queue?

There is just under 40 hours showing in the queue that are still to be completed. That doesn't include the last 3  jobs I've submitted and the 2 missing ones. If we can sort out what happened to the missing jobs then we'll have a good idea of the total hours still to be captured. After that we could then each make suggestions as to what could be added that would make good use of the present set up. It could be something new or just some additional data for something already captured, for example the Flying Bat. These will be are last opportunities for large objects without the need to capture mosaics.

Cheers,

Looking at my end its 1048 1070 1077

I will check with Pete

I wonder if this suggestion is tempting for the members as a whole, one designated person inputs the jobs and keeps an eye on outstanding queues etc?

We are not infallible either and it would maybe of stopped these jobs being missed. At least me chuntering on about a lack of jobs in the pier has highlighted a chink in the system :)

Steve,

Not wishing to sound rude, but when was the last time you had your eyes tested? Job 1077 is 8.3% completed.

I suspect that you are right and they were removed from the queue and someone simply forgot to remove it from the other list. The kind of thing I do too much of the time. My excuse is my age! With so many piers and jobs you're doing a great job.

Now that I've given you some credit, where's mine? Had second thoughts? :)

Cheers,

Ray
