Two panel mosaic of NGC7822 and SH2-170 - sometimes called the 'Cosmic Question Mark'
Approximately 3 hours 20 mins exposure in 120 sec subs for each panel - jobs 1834 and 1835 . Data processed in PixInsight.
Although popularly known as the Cosmic Question Mark, I think in this rendition it is more of the Ape's Skull. Strong brow ridges, large eye sockets and a pronounced snout. What do you think?
Hi Richard,
I see exactly what you mean with that large eye-socket looking structure. Alternatively, this could be the head of a Witch who's forced to wear an eye patch owing to a mishap after falling off her broomstick. I do like the colours you've used.
Witches Head very recently, now the Ape Skull, can we therefore assume that you're working on the Monkey Head next?
Cheers,
Ray

As it happens I do have some Monkey Head data that I have not fully processed yet. Maybe the stimulus to dig it out.!
Hello Richard
That is nice and I don't recall ever seeing it, however, that might be a memory fault. These are becoming more and more frequent. :)
The reason I first mentioned that one is because the resubmitted job on pier 5 for the Monkey Head appears to have recently completed. Just when you think you may have caught up, another one appears.
Kind regards,
Ray

Not a memory fault - as I said, I never completed the process as I made a mistake with the framing. As soon as the Pier 5 job is available, I will have a look at it. Maybe even blend the NB with the OSC? May be not. That sounds like hard work!
