I was a bit disappointed with my last effort for NGC6960, so I had another go. The image comprises of narrowband and broadband data, a HaOIIIRGB image, with each sub at 10 minutes in length. Thus we have 60 minutes for Ha, 230 minutes for OIII and 120 minutes for each of the R, G and B. The total exposure time was 650 minutes which is 10 hours and 50 minutes.

For M45, I had some difficulty sorting out the main star's halo, although I think it is a bit better than it was, but this is a straight RGB picture. Each sub was 5 minutes long and there were 12 subs for each of the R, G and B channels. The exposure time was thus 3 hours.

Pier 7 is a William Optics FLT132 F5.6 APO, with a QSI 660-WSG Mono CCD camera, all on a Paramount MX mount.

Hi Simon,

What a great idea to image the Pleai... Plyadd... Seven Sisters, well some of them anyway with that scope. Countless images, yes me as well, showing them all and instantly recognisable, but this while probably not unique really makes a splendid picture. Extremely well processed, and had you not mentioned the halo I may have not spotted it blended so well in the nebulosity. You too often tend to understate your skills at times Simon.

Cheers,  Ray

Thanks Ray for your kindness with regard to Plodooodees, or whatever it is called. I try my best with what skills I have and I am pleased they are appreciated. I really like this area of the sky, so it was great having the data for it.

Take care now.
