I have always wanted to process an image that is as widefield as this, with regard to the Pleiades. Pier 4 is a stunning set-up and I so hope I have done the wonderful data justice. So, Bank Holiday Monday - laying turf in the garden  - a family member cannot see out of her eyes properly - and in-between that and other things, I have somehow managed to get this done. From the data set I used 75 subs at 3 minutes long each, plus 200 subs at 1 minute long each, for the core. This works out as an imaging time of 7 hours and 5 minutes.

Take care everyone.

Simon

Pier 4 is a ZWO ASI-2066MC Pro OSC, with a Sigma 105mm f/1.4 lens stopped to F/2, an Astromechanics focuser, guided with a ZWO ASI-120 Mini and ZWO Mini guide scope, on an Astro Physics AP900 GTo3 mount. The mount actually runs unguided, so the guide scope is in there only as a backup.

Hi Simon,
You're at it again! I wonder how many you've posted since my last visit?

Hope the turfing went well and was completed successfully. A certain law states that the chances are they'll be the driest autumn on record about to start. Likely centred on where you live as well. I'd check the state of the hosepipe if I were you, just in case.

This is a really great image and as always fantastic stars throughout. Cannot see any evidence in this one of any light gradients, good job on that too. An awful lot  of interesting things in that region by the looks of things.
Have a part of that large area you show taken on pier 5,. Unfortunately due to a few gremlins I am  not able to process it for now. At least when I zoom in on this image I have a better idea of what it might look like.

Best wishes. Ray

[size=100]Steve, yes I will wear my fingers out - I have, what is called, repetitive nebulous globular syndrome! It is very common.... in certain fields. Maybe I am secretly hoping to get some more of my images posted on Instagram!?   :  )   Anyway, thanks so much for all your hard work on everything and for your kind words here. Have a good night. [size=100]Evening Ray. Yes I have a pool of data which I am gradually working through, but it will slow in the next while. In a way I will be glad when it does, because it is heavy on oneself to keep up with this amount of data, but if I do not I will not be ready for the new lot when it comes. Cheers for your caring words and support again. The turf got sorted, thanks, but I only had to do it because of some unscrupulous company we used - dug it all up and re-laid the new stuff. I hope it grows. Ray, I really want to see your latest image, so when it comes I hope to be the first to look at it. All the best with it.

Have an easy night.
