Hello, my name is Noah.

I am an amateur astrophotographer who is still fairly new to the hobby, I am a university student, and majoring in chemistry! I have been doing astrophotography for around 8 months now, and am slowly getting my little rig up and running. I currently have an iOptron cem26 and working towards finding myself a scope and imaging train. I am doing this as I'd like more to become more experienced in editing my photo's in PixInsight and gathering data from a telescope!

Hi Noah,

Welcome to Roboscopes :)

We have a good range of telescopes to choose from and a nice little community of members who are happy to help :)

Welcome Noah,

I'm sure you'll soon get the hang of things and this is a good place to see what you can get to help you in deciding upon your choice of rig. In case you hadn't seen it, on the home page there is a link to download some data of a narrowband object just to get you started and exploring pixinsight.  Now I haven't tried it recently so hopefully it still works. The data is from last year when the scope was fitted with a QSI660 camera, so the field of view and pixel scale are not what they are now and be aware that the latest calibration files for pier 7 are not compatible with the data. The flat files for December 2020 may be, perhaps someone at roboscopes knows.

Cheers,

Ray
