RC Optical Systems (RCOS) 12.5" Ritchey Chrétien

Telescope

RCOS are synonymous with quality and after installing this one I can see why, no corners have been cut at all in the build of this Ritchey Chrétien 12.5” telescope. It’s built like a tank has all the nice touches from front focusing, auto fans to dew control and proper honeycomb flocking, on top of this it has 1/20th PV Zerodour mirrors.

Pier-12 is not fast and has a typical RC speed at F/9, however when combined with our skies 1200 seconds is generaly as long a sub you will ever have to do even for narrowband. so unless the object is super super dim there is no need for 1800s subs in all but the dimmest objects

Its fitted witha a very clean sensor that calibrated exceptionaly well

  • Imaging subjects with brighter cores will of course require shorter sub lengths for HDR, your personal experience will be needed to gauge this yourself.
