Dark nebulas and unusual are my thing so nudge me if you want me to add some interesting stuff
ps not “the” pole as it’s so hard to image but lots of interesting stuff around there to do :)

Steve,
I am working my way through my copy of Stoyan and Schurig Deep Sky Atlas, and cross-referencing some of the B and LBN objects with astrobin. So far found a couple of goodies in Cepheus and Lacerta to Cygnus. Not so excited by the dark nebulae that are gaps in the star clouds, but would like to target some reflectance nebulae where you have cold gas/dust but it is illuminated by stars so you get that lovely sense of boiling texture.
If you have an example of that type of nebula it would help me to get my eye in. I am not sure what that class of objects are called. the Witch Head is the only one I know by name, and that is bright enough to appear in all the catalogues.
