Hi Florent,
Welcome and I hope that you will be really pleased that you joined. Right now is a good time to join as with relatively few members you will be able to get more of those that you would like imaged.
Absolutely no need to apologise, everything you've posted is completely understable, and I wish that I'd taken learning a second and perhaps a third language more seriously than I did at the time. Showing my age now, but in my teenage years a day trip to Paris was about as far as anyone I knew ever travelled. So my feeble excuse was, I'll probably hardly ever be able to travel much anyway. Then they invented the aeroplane!
Just my humour, I'm not that old!
You have a really useful scientific background and given what you do a great understanding of computers. Given that you said that you only recently got into astrophotography but are a keen photographer, what software do you have. Photoshop is what many people use for this hobby, but there are many dedicated astrophotography applications which will make parts of the processing easier, some of which are freeware. I'd recommend a minimum of 16gb of ram given the size of the fits files the camera produces.
I'd be happy to try and answer any questions you may have at any time and as I mentioned earlier, I hope that you'll be very pleased that you joined.
Best regards,
Ray
