Hello all,

The image of the Helping Hand Nebula already taken from October to December 2021 by Pier 5, was chosen today on Astrobin as image of the day.
Link:https://astrob.in/qv9yh7/0/

At that time Pier 5 still had the Zwo Asi 2600MC pro. The Fits header says that the gain value was set to 0.243. Two people on Astrobin asked me why exactly this value was chosen. I can't answer the question because I don't know the exact reason.

Does anyone else know the reason why this value was chosen?

Regards
Darius

The Gain value in the fits header is a default value that Maxim dl puts in. For some reason it will not read the correct value from the camera and seems to be a software error. Our default value when the  2600 was fitted to pier 5 was 100.

Congratulations on POD

Peter
