In order to understand the best pier to use to image an object, I have been doing some research before laying down the cash.   The attached is a comparison of the expected output from the 12 piers using M31 as the target.  I used the FOV tool at Astronomy Tools .  This gives me a reasonable start as to which pier to use for a large object such as M31.  An object such as M57 would point me to a different pier.  I accept no responsibility for the  results and advise you to carry out your own calculations. I hope this is useful. Dave
This is excellent Dave and very helpful. I may well use this myself at some point. Simon

Dave Actualy thats a really good idea. I will try and do a sticky in the forum over the next couple of weeks that would have a common object or two in for each pier Thank you Steve

Dave, That's much easier to use than trying to compare a list of the field of views for each pier. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers, Ray

Afternoon guys,  Really useful this is going to be, as they say, a picture paints a lot of words.  A very very minor observation, they'd have looked prettier in glorious colour. No swearing now!   Hopefully some of the useful information past and future being posted on the forum will be included in a separate section which cannot be replied to. Thanks for the time and effort gentlemen.  Ray
