An HOO view of the Veil complex from Pier 14. 44 x 240s Ha and 73 x 240s O3. Just under 8 hours integration. Veil Nebula.jpg Crops of the Witch's Broom and Eastern Veil from the initial image, to show the resolution of the original. WitchBroom.jpg EasternVeil.jpg All processed in PixInsight. There is no doubt more that could be extracted from the data, but I was worried about spoiling a nice image. I struggle to leave well alone sometimes.
Richard, This is the main reason I subscribed to this pier the moment it became available as it has so much going for it during much of the year. Pretty well the entire Veil complex in a single image and look how sharp and colourful it is. You've even illustrated another great feature which is extracting 2 or more individually interesting objects to produce multiple pictures. You'd just need to add Pickering's Triangle and you end up with what would have required at least 3 separate imaging runs on any of the other mono camera rigs. Admittedly at a slightly lower resolution, but with images like these, it's a no brainer. Excellently processed. Cheers Ray
