Messier 13 - Pier 5

I thought I would process some data of this infamous astronomical object, and it is amazing what pier 5 has picked up with just 30s exposures - such as the structure within the core of the globular. I do not know why, but I had a lot of difficulty with the background - most odd - I could not fix the blotchiness. I managed to find a way to tame it a bit, but darkening it was my main solution - I think I have just about got away with it - but it is a bit too unnaturally dark for me. I probably did something wrong… Pier 5 uses a Takahashi Epsilon 180 F/2,8 astrograph, on a Skywatcher EQ 8 mount with a ZWO ASI071 Pro Colour CMOS camera, and I used 100 subs of all at 30s minutes long each. Hi Simon,  Found a second one straight away after commenting on M45. So how many more messier left for you to do? This image really surprised me, I just never thought that a setup such as this could produce such a clear image of a tight cluster like this. As Peter mentioned great balance as well, and you used only one exposure time. I know you prefer your images to err slightly on the bright side, but it still looks great to me. Just need to see if Mr A makes a comment or two on that aspect of the picture.  Keep well.  Ray
