Absolutely awesome Peter, the difference the addition of ha data has made is something I've not seen before, presumably because mostly we see what are relatively close ups of it. However there's still a large amount close enough that I'd have thought would have appeared in one or two. You've got to submit this to you know where. Thank you Ray, You correct , M31 is probably the most imaged galaxy in the Northern hemisphere. Other than picking out the H2 regions its not something one would normally image through Ha and to get enough data to start to show the background cirrus most would not really think about. It is so faint that without good flats and careful calibration you wouldn't even notice it was there....saying its faint is an understatement and I have to say it was a challenge to pull out. In fact there is actually the ionised H-alpha layer and some evidence of IFN in the Luminance layer. I purposely chose not to show the IFN as I felt it would make the image too busy
