nepotism n, favouritism shown to relatives or close friends by those with power or influence. (17th century : from Italian nepotismo, former papal practice of granting special favours to nephews or other relatives)

I've come across this forum member on pier 3 many times, apparently however they have now decided to widen their agenda. Who are they and should we be concerned?

No doubt you will have come across pieces of advice from up high as to how we ought to go about adding our chosen targets to the Syndicate piers. One would hope that this would mean that, not only would broadband data be prioritised to take advantage of nights less affected by moonlight, but jobs in general would be treated on an equatable basis.

So just who is this member called "Steve Special"? I cannot find out anything about them on the forum. One thing that stands out is that any job they submit gets some as yet undisclosed 'mega priority' on jobs they submit. Just look at the latest job queue for pier 1.

This may end up being my last ever post should I be getting too close to the truth.

Just saying....

Ray,

I am not sure when that job was put into Pier 1 or how fast it has progressed but what I can say is that it has the exact same priority settings as every other job.

What your likely actually seeing is the correct use of the system, ie Steve put the job in at the right time, so that as it rises the Pier is straight on it like predator and garners as much data as it possibly can.

The other jobs - I will assume but cannot confirm as I do not know the skies that well, are more than likely ill placed, future jobs, or jobs that have only little time left of being visible in the sky. Possibly only "up" whilst the suns beaming all over the globe.

Naturally it's summer now which means the imaging window is shortened even further.

Steve will no doubt clarify this - Regardless, you Syndicate users get all the data from the Steve jobs anyway.

I would need my data from Steve Jobs, not accepting other data.

Hi,

Apologies to everyone and roboscopes for the above post, which if possible should now be deleted.

It was a miserable attempt at humour, but I now understand that it could so easily have been misinterpreted as being a serious issue being brought to your attention.

Sorry,

Ray

LOL, guilty as charged :)

It does have zero special treatment mind. i am just lucky for once I guess :)

On a more serious not Ray, the extended regions on M57 Pier3 are biblical, we have retaken the RGB as that was suffering from a little haze and added some more HA.

I just thought I would add it to pier 1 to get a head start, then hoping once Pier-1 members saw was pier 3 achieved that they may get on board add extra in themselves. I truly believe the FOV on Pier 1 with enough data will do M57 real justice

Please ignore my dylexia wherever possible, just be thankful I can control my Tourettes ;)
