I really like this huge expanse of nebulosity but when imaged last year the resulting image suffered from really bad star shapes across an extensive part of it, not to mention the halo around the Garnet star. The new filter should help with the halo and the smaller sensor with the stars. Unfortunately it does require a mosaic. Being done as narrowband only. We just need a long spell of good skies before the imaging hours decrease too much.

Jobs 1540 and 1541, just over 7 hours each..

Cheers,

Ray

It is a nice target, and we can do better than we did last year.

I am sure that someone will do an OSC image on Pier 5 that will provide some interesting opportunities to compare and combine.

Hello Richard,

Now I wonder who that person might be? Yes it would be a good comparison because I find some targets in RGB look better and I'd be keen to get to see this.

Cheers,
