Welcome to the Syndicate and thanks for introducing yourself. Yes pier 3 is an excellent choice and it'll be interesting as to what suggestions you come up with. 

I'm wondering about your reference to Telescopius and that it tends to point out what currently is best placed. Whilst by default that is true, you can use the Target and Filter options to narrow down your target choice. After that there are a vast range of options available to sequence the display, such as the Rise Time.

You are obviously in the same camp as our esteemed Steve who also advocates to start collecting asap. Personally, and most definitely in the minority, apart from those which are at a low declination and have a relatively short capture window, I prefer waiting until they have risen a bit higher and out of the murk. 

Sorry about that, I'm just hijacking your post to have a bit of a dig at our Steve. :) Fortunately he has a thick skin

I have been a member of Pier 3 for only a half year myself, but I am more than satisfied with the datasets I have received so far. I look forward to capturing great images with you and all the other members.

I think my point was more that telescopius tends to encourage everyone to target things that are bang in the middle of their seasonal appearance. But we can get to a target early - as soon as zenith is in astronimical darkness, right at the end of the night.

Gives lots of chances to grab data and deal with any bad subs. I think you are in the minority if you sort things by rise time! Nice. I'm not really up for getting mucky as much as Steve but there are southern targets I can't get from the UK that will require my astro wellies.

The pdf I will share just assists with this planning but does not do anything that telescopius won't do when tweaked and organised using its yearly reminder feature.

Excuse my brevity I am in a forest with the kids, though they are all going mental with sticks so I thought I'd take a chill break and reply!
