Hi,

Apparently once the comet job on this pier is complete there is nothing in the queue that can be imaged after around 3:30am, leaving it with nothing to do from that time.

It appears that anything around the Antares region is not yet high enough to qualify, so any other suggestions?

There is not much in the queue left to do but ideally anything new should not impact on these to ensure they are not delayed too much. Say for example rising after midnight and remaining visible until astronomical twilight starts. Telescopius is your friend.

I'm devoid of suggestions unfortunately, so help needed please.

Cheers,

Ray

Ray,

It is quite tricky at the moment. A lot of the sky is full of galaxies and small clusters. Targets where Pier 5 does not excel.

I have put in an interesting molecular cloud in Lacerta, which will be rising soon, and LBN552 in Cepheus. Part of the problem is figuring out framing as Telscopius doesn't have much in the way of pictures of molecular clouds.

Working on it.

Richard,

Thanks for spending the time looking and finding a couple of promising targets. I agree, Telescopius often makes it extremely difficult to determine if anything is in the fov, particularly for those of us with Old Eyes. In addition it doesn't find things, such as LBN552, which explains why the search I ran never found it. It looks likely to be visible all night, so definitely a good choice all round.

Regards,

Ray

I don't know about thats

Some of the bigger clusters will look awesome in this pier in my opinion, just image for a little longer and it will pay dividends with the resolution of the E180 :)

Well, I will certainly give it a try. M3 now and M13 later!
