My first version of M31. I used 93 subs of Ha, 100 subs blue, 119 subs red, 100 subs green and 100 subs luminance. I have thrown away 47 subs of Ha due to haze or high thin clouds. With the latest Ha upload I can use 45 out of 70 also due to haze or high clouds. So in my next try I can use 138 Ha subs in total. In this version I combined Ha with the red channel using the NBRGBcombination script in PixInsight but after my experience in using the script I'm not satisfied. So I did a search on the internet and found the follewing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDBejs636hk In this video tutorial a other technique will be shown in combining Ha with the LRGB data. The first part of this video can be skipped, look from 55:20 minutes. Maybe interesting. I will use this technique in my next try. Here the first try: M31_P14_LHaRGB_300_560_357_167_300min.jpg
Mike, That's a really impressive improvement on what was already an excellent result. That certainly illustrates the benefits of being in a syndicate, when the amount of integration time necessary to reveal 'hidden' data can be done. Outside of a syndicate, that amount of time would be too expensive. Thanks for making that submission in the first place Mike, I certainly would never have thought to have done so. Now looking forward to M33. Cheers, Ray
