Folks

Has anyone tried the Draco Group from early August yet?  RG and B calibrate fine, but the L calibrated image has lots of donuts on it, despite using the right flats (checked the dates on the subs and the flats - they should match...)?

Hi Mark,

I'm aware of that so have not been processing any of the broadband data sets after discovering it. Concentrated on the narrowband ones only. It should all be resolved when we receive the new flats. I actually haven't checked so they may be there.

It'll probably be best to resubmit the ones you're having problems with, and any others.  If anyone did find a solution to this problem then please let us know what you did.

Cheers,

Hi Mark,

Just wondering if you might have any interest in a capture of the Flying bat nebula, sh2-129, I think, and the object called 'The Squid' aka 'ou4' which in images appears within the nebula. This is on pier 14 but I couldn't seem to find any post you created on the pier 14 lounge area, hence my contacting you here on pier 1.

If curious and for more info look at the post 'Pier 14 advisory posting' starting from post #3498. If I knew how to do it I'd give you the link to it here. Bit of a forum illiterate I'm afraid. :)

Cheers,

I certainly would!  A friend of mine managed to get a decent image of the squid with significant additional processing to normal from Basildon - ever since I saw that I though that is a cool nebula that I would love to get with decent data - far better than we can get here...

Hi Florent,

Would you please supply us with a couple of job numbers, one where you notice an issue and one you don't, then we ought to be able to confirm what you are experiencing.

Cheers,

Ray
