Hi everyone,
Just wanted to touch upon the always fun ( ) topic of calibration files. I did my first booking on Pier 3 and had a look at the calibration files. Couple of points I noticed;
- There are a very limited amount of darks, preferred would be at least 20.
- The narrowband flats are overexposed, the histogram shows this as well they are clipped in the high end. Ideally they should be at around 50% of the ADU range.
- My 600 second masterdark has vignetting in it. This means there is some light leaking onto the sensor.
Apart from that the bias seem to look fine, if the flats could be reduced a bit in illumination it might help a lot as I saw some mentioning there is still some vignetting and the above points might explain why.
Thanks for the very nice system overall!
